The Power Of Making Prompt Decisions

Do you have a hard time making decisions? Do you wake up every morning struggling with what to wear, what to eat for breakfast or which gas station to go to for gas? Is it difficult for you to make decisions even in your business?

A lot of what separates successful businesses from unsuccessful businesses often lies within a decision. One wrong decision can set you back for years; one right decision can set you up for life. So, it is in business. Often times business owners and industry leaders have to make prompt decisions for a number of reasons but mostly so businesses can stay innovative, pioneering, and trailblazing. One’s inability to make a prompt decision may result in lost opportunities.

In “Freedom Entrepreneur,” why hard work causes business failure, and what to do about it, author Peter Carey suggests that as an entrepreneur one should never ask the question what I should do“should” thinking is powerless thinking. There needs to be a level of awareness you have as an entrepreneur which empowers you to make a quick decision on what to do within your business.

As an entrepreneur you want to have the freedom to make decisions. In Napoleon Hill’s, “Think and Grow Rich,” he called “decision” the mastery of procrastination. Hill said that most businesses that failed had a common characteristic amongst the business owners; lack of decision. Prompt decision making was one of the leading causes of business success amongst millionaires according to Hill.

I am not suggesting that you make a decision; eventually. I am suggesting that the more intentional and decisive you are about making swift decisions the more your business will benefit. Rarely are these kinds of decisions changed once it has been decided. So, go ahead and decide on a business name, decide on your next program venue, decide on your next partnership. Let go of limiting behaviors such as indecisiveness, procrastination, and yielding to someone else to tell you what you should do. I talk about the power of making prompt decisions in my book, “Everything By Faith.” Make a decision to grab a copy today.
