Easy Ways To Pull Off Stress Free Christmas Shopping

Easy Ways To Pull Off Stress Free Christmas Shopping

How’s your holiday shopping going? Have you gotten everything on your Christmas list, or do you still have more shopping to do? Are you shopping online, or do you travel store to store?

Believe it or not but holiday shopping can actually be beneficial; especially when you are going store to store. Studies show that physical rest activities can be beneficial for reducing stress, repairing muscle, and restoring energy. Among the list of these physical activities include leisure activities such as walking and shopping.

I know that shopping, especially during the Christmas season can be more stressful than relaxing, however, by taking an intentional approach to use shopping as a method of physical rest, you will find yourself in a better mood with less anxiety and more energy.

Here are some tips when you go out to finish your holiday shopping:

1. Make a list- This is important so that you know exactly what you are looking for and you know exactly which stores you need to go to.

2. Plan your route- Decide which roads to travel and try to do all of your shopping within the same shopping center.

3. Park with the end in mind- Plan which store will be first and which will be last and park your car near the last store so you when you finish you can find your car quickly and leave.

4. Walk from store to store- Again walking is physical rest, so it is important to walk as much as possible to reduce stress and anxiety.

5. Take in the moment- take deep breaths and release from time to time and be present in the moment; don’t think about all you have to do when you return home.

6. Shop with friends- Adding a few people will make the time go by and give you laughter, calm, and social rest; not to mention they can help carry the gift bags.

7. Wear comfortable shoes- Nothing is more distracting and frustrating than walking in shoes that hurt your feet after a while.

Hopefully these helpful tips will get you through the holiday shopping experience with more energy, happiness, and strength.

Happy Shopping!
